Terms of service

1. Service description

Vanity is an iOS application that generates photorealistic virtual try-on images. You share a product link from any online retailer, and Vanity produces an AI-generated image of you wearing that item, which is saved to your personal closet.

By downloading or using Vanity, you agree to these terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Vanity, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. Acceptable use

You may use Vanity to generate virtual try-on images for your personal shopping decisions. You agree not to:

  • Upload photos of other people without their consent
  • Use the service to generate harmful, illegal, or offensive content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the AI generation service
  • Use automated systems to generate try-ons at scale beyond normal personal use

4. Account terms

Your account is personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple or Google account credentials used to sign in. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized account access.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Vanity offers a 7-day free trial with 5 try-ons. After the trial period, users must choose a paid subscription to continue generating new try-ons. Three subscription tiers are available: Starter (GBP 9.99/month, 25 try-ons), Pro (GBP 19.99/month, 50 try-ons), and Unlimited (GBP 49.99/month, unlimited try-ons). Annual plans are available at a discount. Subscriptions are managed through Apple In-App Purchase.

Regarding the free trial:

  • The 7-day trial period begins on the date you first download Vanity. The trial is non-renewable and available once per account.
  • After the trial ends, you will be prompted to choose a paid subscription. If you do not subscribe, you retain read-only access to your existing closet but cannot generate new try-ons.
  • No payment is required during the trial period.

Regarding paid subscriptions:

  • Billing occurs through your Apple ID account at the prices shown in the App Store at time of purchase.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation must be done through your Apple ID subscription settings, not through Vanity.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.
  • Prices are shown in GBP. Prices may vary by region based on App Store regional pricing.

6. Intellectual property

Your photos: You retain all rights to the reference photos you upload. By uploading them, you grant Vanity a limited licence to process these photos solely for the purpose of generating try-on images for you.

Generated images: AI-generated try-on images are provided for your personal use. You may save and use them for personal shopping decisions. Commercial use of generated images is not permitted.

Product content: Product images and information belong to their respective retailers. Vanity does not claim ownership of third-party product content.

Vanity itself: The Vanity app, its design, and all original content are the property of Vanity and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

7. Affiliate links

Vanity may include affiliate links to product pages. When you purchase a product via a link in Vanity, we may receive a small commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you. This does not influence which products you can try on -- any URL from any retailer can be used.

8. AI-generated content disclaimer

Try-on results are AI-generated approximations. The actual fit, colour, and appearance of a garment on your body may differ from the generated image. Vanity is a decision-making aid, not a guarantee of how an item will look when worn.

9. Limitation of liability

Vanity is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for:

  • Purchasing decisions made based on try-on results
  • Service interruptions or technical failures
  • Loss of generated images if you delete your account
  • Third-party retailer website availability or content

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for a Vanity subscription in the preceding 12 months.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via the app with reasonable notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
